What is Altism?

In The World of Warcraft, Altism is described as:

The uncontrollable urge to create numerous “alts”(secondary characters) and level them up slowly and randomly.

A lot of WoW players have varying degrees of Altism, and luckily some don’t seem to suffer from it at all. They are the unlucky ones. It is widely known that WoW allows the creation of numerous toons spanning all races, factions and classes in the game, in turn allowing one to experience the story and enjoyment of this great game from all perspectives.

Unfortunately some people are blinded by Horde or Alliance. Severe cases of Altism spread across the faction lines and creep up on both sides of the fence hence allowing an understanding of the game that goes beyond normal standards and allowing one to experience the WHOLE story.

I am one of these people. I have plodded through the Alliance side of the world as well as the Horde side. I have preferences as to which side I prefer but I don’t state one is better then the other. I am one of the few who plays WoW because of the Lore and to be a part of a World most dream of living in everyday, involving magic, mystery and a lot of annoying kids who can’t type. This is my story.
